The top 2 spots stayed the same but there was major activity throughout the rest of top 25. #1 UCLA remained #1 after winning a thrilling, probably classic game against then #3 Colorado 37-34. #2 Miami retained its spot with a close, physical win against then #4 Auburn 28-21. It was the first time the top 4 teams played in the same weekagainst eachother. This is the closest college football has come to a playoff and it happened by accident. Huge, huge games and huge wins over the qualitiest of quality opponents. UCLA and Miami look like they are pretty much locked to play for the 2015 National Title as long as both win all their remaining games.
The rest of the top 25 starts with West Virginia moving from #5 to #3 after a 63-14 annihilation of then #10 Michigan. West Virginia is now in position to get in should one of the teams lose. Clemson jumps from #7 to #4 after a victory over then #14 Texas 35-21. Huge expectations for Clemson this year. Colorado drops from #3 to #7 after a loss to #1 UCLA. Michigan State goes from #12 to #8 after a 38-21 victory over then #6 Arizona State. Auburn falls from #4 to #9 after their loss to Miami. Pitt moves up 1 spot to #10 after a tough defensive battle, 17-12 over then #15 South Carolina. Arizona State falls from #6 to #12. Texas falls from #14 to #19. South Carolina falls from #15 to #21. Wisconsin is not ranked in the top 25 and is off to an 0-2 start. Wisconsin as history suggests will turn it around soon.
